Gyula Konkoly - "Beach Girls"
20.04.11 - 17.05.11
Faur Zsófi - Ráday Gallery - 25. Bartók Béla Str., Budapest, Hungary
Rays of sunshine and the cool sea breeze pass through the new paintings by Gyula Konkoly
at the Faur Zsófi- Ráday Gallery from mid-April to mid-May. Refined painting and sophisticated technique define these works which are the result of the artist’s research on the conviviality
of nature and humans, the painted seascape and the sun’s beams.
Konkoly redefines the conventional genres and subjects of contemporary painting, such
as landscape and genre painting, human and natural beauty. He does not seek to capture
the absolute truth; rather, for this artist, painting is the vehicle for visual content, using it to capture the essence of sensuality: the intangible dynamism of water, the optical effects of the brilliant sun, man in its natural environment, and the beauty of the female form - - the timeless
and classical theme of painting - - on display on an eye-catching beach. more:
