You'll find this gem of a gallery squirreled away on a small street just north west of the Planty, the gracious belt of parkland that encircles the Old Town.
The gallery is spread over two floors, and it has a reputation for holding some of the most interesting exhbitions of contemporary art in Cracow.

The BB Gallery was launched in October 1997 on ul. Ska?eczna 5 in Cracow's Kazimierz district. In 2002 the gallery was brought closer to the Main Market Square, to ul. Garbarska 24, and it has been in operation in Wroc?aw since December 8, 2004.

Brought about through the initiative of Anita Bialic and Gra?yna Brylewska, the BB Object Gallery deals in the promotion and sale of Polish applied, decorative and design art.
The gallery's owners, a reporter and an artist, organized the "object gallery" with a touch
of humility considering the fascination of the Cracow graphics and painting community. They called for the participation of artists making objects, whether from clay, glass, paper, fabric, wicker, or metal... With a heavy emphasis on graduates from the Wroc?aw State School of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts.

"An object is concrete. It fills our reality. And it can be a work of art!" decided Bialic
and Brylewska at forthcoming exhibitions. They showed pieces that fulfilled various aesthetic criteria. They received a range of responses: acceptance and astonishment, but also opposition, irritation, sometimes even anger. The gallery owners eagerly took up discussion with people visiting the gallery. In their opinion, people who know nothing about art can learn to understand the art of the object most quickly. It's enough to give them the opportunity to come in contact
with it to create some sort of understanding...

"It often happens that our guests at the gallery are critical of what we have to offer, but a minute later they change their opinion. The exhibit starts to grow on them because they understand its message, and it opens their mind to something new" says Anita Bialic, who now runs the BB Gallery on ul. Garbarska 24 in Cracow on her own.

Around 80 Polish artists work regularly with the BB Gallery. It has had 153 exhibitions. It has co-operated with other Cracow galleries, and both with galleries in Poland and abroad.
The following Poland-wide exhibits were prepared at the gallery's initiative: Screens and Kettles, Heads, Christmas Tree Design, Calendars, and Eggs!, Head in the Clouds, The Beach, Cats Pyjamas, The Counting, Angels, Ladies First, Glass-a-porter.

In its 14 years of existence, BB Gallery has made numerous contacts with young artists who are still unknown. It buys their work, helps them organize exhibits, takes care that they have access to the media, and contacts other galleries.

All exhibits and activities prepared by BB Gallery cause a great deal of interest amongst visiting galleries and the media.

The opening of the BB Gallery in Wroc?aw creates the opportunity to make an even better presentation of Wroc?aw artists in Cracow. Simultaneously, it makes possible the presentation
of Cracow artists' work in Wroc?aw.
