Jatki? - My first association is “Diagon Alley” from Harry Potter. A magical place, the only area I remember feeling the urge after years of artistic stagnation - I knew I had to find this Sezam Every time I set out to go there it’s like playing blind man’s bluff. And those two ladies always sitting in my favourite store - such charming witches... Animals. Galleries and exhibitions. I’m not there very often these days. The atmosphere is really great but there aren’t any atmospheric places to hang out. No places that have been around One of the oldest and cosiest hangouts of Wroc?aw. Former slaughterhouse... It used to be really lively! There were meetings, cabarets... Everybody from the Academy of Fine Arts used to hang out there: students, professors... I remember the smell of ink, wood and paper from the arts supplies store... Nice, narrow little street with galleries, arts supplies shops and a pub. There’s also I associate Jatki with cheap Jewish bars and Pomaranczowa Alternatywa operations. A tiny street which smells like the old Wroc?aw. And animals of course... The pub on Jatki is where we usually finish off our parties. Then we’re sure that the evening Whenever I’m in the city centre, I have a look what’s up on Jatki. I run away from the city bustle I often tell foreign tourists to have a look at Jatki. Several times I had to change the direction I was driving to take someone there specially...
